An independant artist
Eshkar works out of her garage-studio in between caring for her three children. And it’s clear to see from her array of simple yet beautifully crafted pieces that she loves her work:
“I started doing pottery in a little home studio two hours a week - I fell in love and decided to go back to school so for the next two years,” she says.
“I learned ceramics in a art school in Israel with the most outstanding potter/teacher. Now I live in the US and am constantly learning and developing my skills with clay.”
If you’re thinking of snapping up one of these cheeky little planters, make sure you do it justice with the right kind of plant.
Perfect for air plants
Tillisandia, or ‘air plants’ as most of us know them, are unique in their ability to live without soil, literally plucking their nutrients from thin air. That means they’re as low-maintenance as it gets. For more air-plant display ideas to complement your little unicorn, browse our guide.
For the owl planter, opt for a succulent, such as echeveria. Available in an array of pretty shades from mint green to dusky pink, this Mexican desert plant is also an easy-care plant that needs little watering and attention.
