Is this the coolest way to display your houseplants?

This retro hanging plant holder will give your plants instant kudos

We can’t get enough of retro homewares – and, of course, no retro home is complete without a wire plant holder. This simple but chic, mid-century inspired design by Sonadora In Love will have you falling head over heels with your houseplants.

A modern twist on a retro classic, the 18” hoop is welded by hand and made to order. For a monochrome look that’s perfectly in keeping with the era, upgrade to a powder coated black or white finish in professional grade paint.

And if you’re in any doubt about how good it will look in the flesh – or in your home – their ever-growing list of super-satisfied customers is something to go by.

Which plants work best?

One of the best things about this simple design is its versatility. You would be hard pushed to find a plant that didn’t look good hanging in one of these. For a modern, understated look, opt for a smooth-edged succulent – or for something totally eye-catching and different, creature-luring carnivorous plants will certainly make a statement! Climbing plants with cascading leaves also work well – think English ivy or heart-shaped philodendron.

About the artist

Nashville based designer Lisa Garcia is the creative brains behind the Sonadora In Love brand. “I live my life according to my dreams, those that stew in the day, and those that brew in the night. In dreaming, the common day object or sentiment can be made magical,” says Garcia. So you won’t be surprised to hear that the name Sonadara means ‘dreamer’ in Spanish.
