TIPS FOR HOUSEPLANTS IN YOUR DINING AREA
The plants in our example were chosen based on diversity in size, shape and shades of green. Ficus Lyrata is a house tree that, especially in a large pot, is a real eye-catcher in any dining area. Philodendron Scandens is an easy hanging and climbing plant that does perfectly in a hanging pot on the wall or on a (display case) cabinet. Alocasia zebrina, aka elephant's ear, makes a statement on the floor with its striped stems and large leaves. Plants like Fern adiantum and Rhipsalis like to steal the show on your dining table or windowsill.
THE BENEFITS OF A GREEN DINING AREA
You probably already knew that plants have a positive effect on your mood. But surrounding your dining area with plants has many more advantages!
- Green around you creates calm and relaxation. Plants have a proven calming effect, making the stress of the day give way to relaxation.
- Plants have many health benefits: they purify the air, increase humidity, improve your mental and physical health and have a positive effect on your productivity and creativity.
- Do you eat alone? No way! Your green friends add a touch of vibrancy to your space. Added bonus: they are great listeners and never give unsolicited advice.
- Is a family meal not always harmonious? Who knows, plants might make for less strife at the table. After all, plants create connection and natural harmony.
- Plants contribute to a positive, warm atmosphere at home and make you feel more connected to nature.
