But if tropical wallpaper is a little flamboyant for your tastes and you prefer something a little more understated, opt for the subtle approach with simple repeat leaf motifs.
These ingeniously simple DIY leaf-print pillow covers from the Ukkonooa blog look like the kind of thing you’d pick up from a high-end interiors shop but can be made in minutes for a fraction of the price.
What you’ll need:
- Unbleached cotton (or ready-made plain pillow covers)
- Leaves
- Small paintbrush
- Small paint roller
- Fabric paint
What to do:
1. Apply paint to the leaves with a small paintbrush.
2. Press the leaves into the fabric with the help of a roller.
3. Leave the paint to dry completely.
4. Iron over the prints to waterproof them.
5. Sew the fabric into envelope pillow covers
