Could your patio use a bit of reviving in these months? With ready-to-use spring bulbs you can create a transformation in no time. Look, colour!
Plant flowering bulbs now
While you were running around in your raincoat in the autumn, flower bulb growers were working hard growing flower bulbs. Since January the bulbs have been ready to start flowering. Take a look at your garden centre or florist. They are all waiting for you: bright pink hyacinths, canary yellow tulips and bright blue or white grape hyacinths.
Bulbs and frost: how does that work again?
You can plant bulbs in pots, or if you have a garden, in full soil. The fresh outdoor air ensures that these spring flowers flower really well. You only have to give them a bit of extra water with dry weather. Plant the spring bulbs when the temperature is above nil. Don’t worry if it is hanging around freezing point but if we get a sharp frost, you would be better to bring the flowering bulbs inside.
