This is what you will need
- Strong brown wrapping paper
- Mini white Poinsettias
- Small, strong plastic bags
- Sticky tape
- Brown string
- Scissors
How to make it
- Cut large squares out of the brown paper and fold them into a triangle.
- Roll them up into a cone which will fit the mini Poinsettia and stick it together with the tape. Origami masters can fold the points into the bag, but for that you will need nerves of steel so sticky tape will work just as well.
- Make holes in 3 to 4 places around the top edge (the more holes, the better the weight will balance and the nicer it will look). Put string through the holes and knot.
- Soak the mini Poinsettia pots in water so that they are nice and damp and can cope on their own for a while.
- Place the pots in a strong plastic bag, cut away surplus plastic, place your Poinsettia into the brown paper cones, and trim the paper to create the perfect shape!
- Distribute the plants around the tree. Tah-dah! Aren’t they lovely?
Tip!
If your brown paper isn’t very thick, fold a rectangle in half before you make the triangle. You can fold the leftover points inside at the top, which will create a bit more strength for the holes and string. Instead of Poinsettias, you could also use other miniature plants to hang in your tree.
