Firstly make sure that the plant or flower that you want press is not too thick. Place the plants and flowers between the pages of a (weighted) book: ideally a beautiful old encyclopaedia of plants for the sake of nostalgia! Leave the plant or flower to press for at least 3 weeks. If the plant or flower is not properly pressed yet, place between two clean pages and ‘forget’ your project again for a while. The next time you look, they will have turned out beautifully!
On the wall or on the dresser
You can place the finished product in a beautiful frame or a glass case. One glance at it will take you back in time. You can almost smell the summer memories!
What to buy where?
You can get your favourite flowers from your favourite florist, the glass box at nkuku.com, and for a personalized card with a shell from the beach -a memento from your holiday, or pick one up from Steen en Been (meaning Stone & Bone). The golden scissors are available online at A- La, a second hand book you find at books markets, and you can get the frame from Housejunkie.co.uk.
