DIY: Eucalyptus wall hanging

A fresh and easy botanical decoration for the home

Spend a couple of minutes with some fresh eucalyptus and create a stylish ornament for your home. The clean colours of the leaves combine beautifully with copper to create a unique, airy display. Read on for instructions on making your own version.

You will need:

  • Eucalyptus
  • Copper pipe
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Metal saw

Get to work

  1. Cut the copper pipe to the required length using the metal saw.
  2. Attach the eucalyptus branches to the centre using string.
  3. Thread a piece of string through the pipe, then tie the two ends together to make a triangle-shaped hanging. Another option is to drill two small holes in the metal pipe (one on either end) and attach a piece of string at each end. 

Then all that's left fo do is to arrange and hang a few stems. Your ornament will be perfect for a wall hook, instead of a traditional framed picture.
