Colours and shapes
Bouvardia is available in white, pink and red, or two of these colours combined. It is a member of the Rubiaceae family and is a popular garden plant. There are around thirty different species of bouvardia, all of which offer different sizes, flower colours and single or double flowers. They can always be recognised by their trumpet or star-shaped flowers.
Symbolic
Bouvardia has an illustrious history. It is named after Charles Bouvard, personal physician to Louis XIII and head of the Jardin du Roi in Paris. The flower symbolizes enthusiasm and that is why bouvardia is often included as a cut flower in celebration bouquets.
Origin
