- Fern
- Papyrus (ornamental grass)
- Helleborus
- Pinus
- Ophiogogon planiscapens niger (ornamental grass, also called black snakebeard)
- Hypernicum
- Nandina
- Moss plant
Tips for an outdoor border
- When choosing your plants, consider companion planting. By combining the right plants with each other, you can raise the quality of your border to a higher level and ensure that the plants are able to grow and bloom optimally.
- When choosing your plants, take into account the location of your border. Ornamental grasses such as Papyrus and Black Snakebeard, for example, can tolerate the fierce sun, but ferns fare much better in the shade. Click here for more sun worshippers. For a shaded border, consider plants such as anemones and Clematis.
- Make sure the border stays green all year round. In any case, choose a number of plants which will remain green all year round (such as Helleborus and Pinus), and alternate flowering seasons. That way, you can enjoy a green border all year round!
- Of course, you want to be able to enjoy your green border indoors too. So place your border in a strategic position so that you can look at it through a window or door. Green energy and a relaxed feeling guaranteed!
