PINe: A FEAST FOR THE EYES AND THE MOUTH
Did you know that, besides its beautiful appearance, the Pine also produces pine wood and pine nuts? Pine cones are spherical or cylindrical, and sticky resin protects the pine tree against cold or drought. This makes the plant a real winter wonder. As the Pine is available as a shrub or on a stem, it fits in the garden as well as on the balcony. If you are very creative, you can even prune the plant into shapes.
the symbolism of pine
In China, Japan and Korea, Pine has a special symbolic meaning. There it stands for strength, long life and constant patience. You will find Pine in many gardens around temples and houses in those countries, often pruned into beautiful shapes. Bonsai (the Japanese art form) is a very blissful hobby if you want to relax with a Pine tree nearby.
