The designs
There are three different shaped planters to suit the needs of a variety of plant fans.
- The Greenball is best for indoor use and can be hung from the ceiling or wall, or place on a table like a normal pot.
- The Railing Planter can sit on balconies, fences and railings to display plants outside
- The Railing Planter XL is similar to the Railing Plantter but can hold even more plants
Both types of railing planter come with draining trays to reduce water wastage. They also come in a wide range of colours and the XL Planter can fit up to 8 litres of soil inside it meaning there's plenty of room for your plants! You can buy the railing planters from a variety of suppliers around the world, but here in the UK the best place to go is to the QVC website.
What to plant
It's up to you what you plant! Flowering plants will add even more colour to your garden so think about featuring osteospermums, pelargoniums and marigolds in your planters. For gentle pinks, purples and blue you could mix violas, petunias and bacopa to create a warming display. Or how about growing your own herb garden on your balcony? You could plant some rosemary, mint and thyme and watch them grow just outside your window.
