Hanging displays
There were several hanging plants on show at Chelsea, but our favourite came in the World Vision garden with a lush display featuring Tillandsias, Calatheas and greenery in the form of the Kentia palm. If you have an outdoor space which has an overhead structure then you can recreate a smaller-scale arrangement, or alternatively you can still mix similar plants in a more traditional planter.
Plenty of purple
Across all the displays, purple was the most prevelant colour and can easily be added to your home. The M&G Garden featured purple Aliums, whilst the Time To Reflect garden opted for Geraniums to add colour. To bring this theme into your own home, combine Violas, Petunias and Hydrangeas in outdoor planters and make the most of purple calla lilies inside.
A variety of succulents
Inside the Grand Pavillion, there were lots of Cacti to be seen. Hedgehog and Barrel Cacti were among the wide variety of types on show and certainly gave the impression that succulents are a trend that's here to stay. Whether you are looking for a new desk plant for a study or a feature plant for any living space, there's sure to be a creative cactus just like the ones shown at RHS Chelsea.
