Insect-eating plants
Is there anything scarier than a carnivorous plant? Both the Venus Fly Trap and Nepenthes are known for their ability to 'swallow' bugs whole. Despite their animal-eating tendancies, both plants make beautiful houseplants throughout the year so there's no need to only get these out on Halloween.
A spikey surprise
As a member of the Calathea family, the Rattle Snake plant has plenty of charms but when combined with some spikey sticks, the deep purple undersides of the leaves seem extra dark. Get creative with the display to bring out the darkness!
A Bromeliad cauldron
Witch's cauldrons are normally filled with boiling liquids, but planting a bright red Bromeliad in a cauldron is much more of a treat than a trick. The colourful plant looks like flame and creates a spooky atmosphere without causing any burns!
